Department of Health not paying opticians
Robert Stanley Opticians are an NHS contractor and can provide you with a high quality eye examination regardless of whether you pay or you qualify for a 'free' NHS eyetest.
The Department of Health reimburse your opticians when they perform an NHS eyetest. This responsibility hasd recently been handed to a private company called Capita.
Unfortunately, across England, Capita have failed to pay opticians on time or have lost claims from opticians and many hundreds of thousands of pounds is owed to opticians throughout the UK. This gross incompetence is causing serious financial harm to many small independent opticians and yet nobody seems accountable. If you currently enjoy your eye examination without cost, this could end soon unless the Department of Health sorts this problem completely.
